Oh So Hero! v0.19.900

New features:

  • Android phone support!
    • One of our most requested features is here! You can now play Oh So Hero! on your Android phone! We have two builds for this: Standard (x86) and ARM64. See the install guide for details on these builds and help with getting it set up.
    • We have added on-screen touch controls and new options for scale and opacity. Please understand there is much room for improvement. The touch controls still need fine tuning. Your feedback will help towards making this better!
  • New NPCs: O'Tary, Ajax, Cian, and Foxel!
    • Find all four of these guys in the Dojo Secret Basement!
    • O’Tary is a security seal, Ajax is a Bax NPC, Cian is a Puca NPC, and Foxel is a red panda!
  • New Environment (WIP): Dojo Secret Basement!
    • This is just a small section of a larger planned environment. It will be expanded upon in a future update.
    • You can get to the basement through a new door near the safe in the east building of Hiroto Dojo. The current entrance is temporary; we plan to add an adjacent room with a proper entryway later.
    • The basement also includes a new teleporter! Of course, you’ll need to access it on foot before it activates.
  • New Music: “Dojo Henshin!! (Tech Mix)”
    • Hear it in the Dojo Secret Basement!

Improvements & bug fixes:

  • Fixed Mac Intel support.
  • Updated Gallery with new UI and controls with touch input support.
    • The debug trailer mode key “T” has been replaced with a Hide UI feature.
    • There are other changes and fixes you can find here!
  • Updated Credits with new staff and patrons
  • Fixed issues with ultrawide resolutions T#44.
  • Removed Unity services (unused).
  • And even more fixes that are too trivial to list!

Known issues:

  • Gallery camera controls currently do not work on Android when using touch input.

Oh So Hero! v0.19.300

New features:

  • New NPC: Biro!
    • Find this bird on the boardwalk at Smol Beach.

Improvements & bug fixes:

  • Added Haya's Sexy Taunt animation (also in Gallery).
  • Give the player iframes between rooms.
    • Whenever the player/camera transitions between LevelRooms (CameraRooms) with a hard cut (quick fade to/from black), such as when going through a door, give the player character invulnerability/invincibility frames for one second.
  • Fixed Koji's bar stool / animation VFX.
  • Fixed PreGameStory loading gameplay twice.
  • Improved camera transitions in Treewish Forest.
  • Fixed camera positions in Brask’s Palace & Smol Beach.
  • Fixed falling detection; Joe will now properly walk down a ramp.
  • Fixed camera tween with loading confirmation off T#74.
  • Fixed Haya attempting to grab too far away T#76.
  • Fixed camera bug in Brask's Jungle T#78.
  • Fixed Signal and Puca attacks T#79.

Oh So Hero! v0.19.200 Bug Fix Build

New features:

  • New Awakened Status for Bax & Haya, and New Ability for Haya
    • Hiroto Dojo is a great place for training and awakening new abilities.
    • In a previous update, we made Bax’s moves change when his HP falls to 50% or below. We’ve turned this concept into a new status called Awakened.
    • If an enemy can be Awakened, there will be a gray dot to the left of their HP bar. Each enemy type has its own condition for Awakening. When this condition is met, the gray dot will turn into a yellow star, and the enemy’s behavior and moveset will change. Think of this as the enemy’s second phase.
    • As said before, Bax will be Awakened at ≤ 50% HP with new moves (same as in previous builds, except now the yellow star will appear).
    • Haya will be Awakened at ≥ 50% LP with a new lust-raising ability called Sexy Star (this will have a new taunt animation starting next build).
    • We will keep this status in mind for future enemies and may even apply this to existing enemies retroactively as appropriate. Have fun teaching those enemies a lesson!

Improvements & bug fixes:

  • Now that Haya has Sexy Star, you’ll have easier access to the sex animation that occurs between Haya and Joe when Joe is at 100% lust.
  • Fixed loading to the wrong checkpoint (including after game over).
  • Fixed Stier's animation upon entering Lood City.
  • Fixed some camera glitches.
  • Updated Full Frontal Frog logo from ff-f.co to ribbit.fun.
  • Updated Haya's ninja star material.
  • And even more fixes that are too trivial to list!

Known issues:

  • Haya’s Sexy Star taunt animation is missing. He is using his standard high throw animation instead. The proper animation will be added next build.
  • The Awakened yellow star does not appear immediately when the Awakened condition is met (as it should). Currently it waits until the next available move to be evaluated.
  • A loading screen now appears when starting the game (in order to properly load some things that need extra time). If you have Loading Confirmation enabled in the options, this will require you to press the attack key to continue. This will be revisited and revised in a future update.
  • When Loading Confirmation is disabled, some scenes start with a camera tween to Joe from another position off screen.
  • Some areas have new camera bugs and new enemy activation bugs introduced as a result of ongoing development to level design code.
  • All of these issues will be addressed in future builds. Going forward, we will be tracking known issues in the public issue tracker to ensure they are resolved in a timely fashion.

Oh So Hero! v0.19.100

New features:

  • New multigrab animations: Signal+Signal and Stier+Stier
    • These dudes can be encountered in Lood City.
  • Three (3) new animations for Haya!
    • Haya can be found in Hiroto Dojo, and he also has a new grab move.
  • New NPC: Koji!
    • This Daku NPC can be found in Ali's Surf Shack. He will be relocated and provided dialogue in a future update.
  • New 3D models for all collectible items.

Improvements & bug fixes:

  • Fixed doors transitioning to wrong checkpoints (and related autosave issues).
  • Fixed enemy AI when pausing the game.
  • Fixed Haya's AI and added his grab move.
  • Made tweaks to all gameplay environments, including Hiroto Dojo and Lood City.
  • Fixed the missing impact sound effect for Joe's butt stomp.
  • Added new staff to the Credits.
  • And even more fixes that are too trivial to list!

Known issues:

  • Koji's animation spawns a barstool under Joe. This is not spawned/positioned correctly when viewing it in the Gallery. A fix is forthcoming.
  • Some areas of gameplay may have new issues with the camera, player collision, or enemy AI activation since we have migrated to new level design tools. We'll be working to iron out these issues and make other long-needed fixes over the coming updates.

Other notes:

  • We still need more time to address the issue with the false positive virus reports. Our previous Windows build was made on a machine running Windows 11 (to the best of my knowledge), so I went back to our standard dev machine running Windows 10. Hopefully this will mitigate the issue until we have time to set up Extended Validation Code Signing.

Oh So Hero! v0.19.000

New features:

  • New Enemy: Haya!
    • You can encounter this ninja rabbit enemy in Hiroto Dojo!
    • This is a simple enemy with one swooned animation and one sex animation with Joe.
    • NOTE: Haya has replaced O'Deere in the Dojo, but O'Deere can still be found in the Forbidden Bayou.
  • New Ninja Clan animations!
    • Joining the existing Trio and Pig, we now have Goat and Cat/Dog animations.
    • Each Ninja Trap laser color has one of these animations. Find all four!
  • Apple silicon support!
    • If you have a Mac with an M1 or newer processor, please download the “Apple silicon” / “macsilicon” build.
    • NOTE: Intel Macs can continue running the game with the “Intel” / “macintel” build.

Improvements & bug fixes:

  • Hiroto Dojo has updated enemy placement and some revised level objects.
  • A few items have been updated with 3D representations. We plan to do this with all existing items as development progresses.
  • Tiburon's dialogue has been updated.
  • Updated Credits
  • And even more fixes that are too trivial to list!
