He ends up finding the Lodestone by himself after taking a different entrance into the mysterious temple, however, he messes up its extraction and activates some sort of trap. [[Joe]] then finds him inside this location and tries to help him both after he pitied himself for messing up, as well as with the retrieval of the Lodestone.
