====== Daku ======

The **Daku** is one of the first enemy types encountered in the game. Having a baseless species origin outside of being aliens.

===== Appearance =====

These little perverts sport all black clothing which include: leg warmers, arm warmers, a thong hiding their humanoid genitals, and some form of neck-wear with a small green ball on the front. They carry around what appear to be sex toys which they will attempt to hit the player with.  They have Martinique Blue skin and Gigas Blue spines on their shoulders and upper-arms. They have a stubby tail, a line of spines going across the crown of their head, and relatively big horn-like ears that grow out and curve upwards from the side of their head.

===== Locations =====

Dakus can be encountered in the [[locations#Sheo Islands Beach]] and the [[locations#Southeast Beach]]. They share these locations with the [[amaru|Amarus]] and can also be seen in the Game Over scenes of these locations.

===== Attacks =====

Dakus are generally easy to defeat. They try to get close to [[Joe]] and swing at him to attack, if Joe is too far or at a height difference, they may leap towards him and try to grapple him into a grab. Dakus also have a lust attack where they shoot out a pink heart on an arc that can increase Joe's lust on hit.

===== Updates =====

With [[changelog_v0.14#Oh So Hero! v0.14.500|version 14.500]], Dakus gained their lust attack. They attack by suddenly growing an erection and making a lewd expression on their face while a pink heart manifests high into the air directly in front of them, dealing a fair amount of lust damage to Joe if he's in midair, slightly above them on an elevated platform, or directly in front of them at a close enough distance. The attack also deals splash damage when the heart hits the ground.

With [[changelog_v0.14#Oh So Hero! v0.14.600|version 0.14.600]], their splash attack also stuns Joe briefly if it connects. Also as of this update, Dakus are the only enemies that can walk off ledges and platforms to attack Joe, though this is only possible by using their grapple. However, they cannot be knocked off of platforms by Joe's physical attacks like in previous builds.

With [[changelog_v0.18#Oh So Hero! v0.18.200|version 0.18.200]], the Dakus gained 2 [[multigrabs]]. One is initiated alongside another Daku and the other is initiated alongside [[Amaru]].

With [[changelog_v1.00_to_v1.08#Oh So Hero! v1.06.000|version 1.06.001]], the Dakus had their animations updated with new versions that include additional segments and improved detail. These replaced their animations during gameplay. If the player had already seen the old animations on their save file, they could still see the old ones in the gallery.

===== Trivia =====

  * The Daku appear in the Game Over screens for Sheo Islands Beach and Southeast Beach, as well as the default and old Game Over screens.
    * Dakus can also be seen in the default loading screen surrounding [[Joe]].
  * In some of the older builds, Daku and [[amaru|Amaru]] used to appear in Treewish Forest and Brask's Jungle.
  * Daku was the first enemy to have more than one [[multigrab]]. One with itself and [[Amaru]]. As of today, he is no longer the only enemy with this characteristic.
  * Daku was the first enemy to have their animations redone after their release, these were updated to appear during gameplay but the old ones may be seen in today's builds if players had unlocked them in the gallery before.
  * [[Daku Day]] is named after the Dakus.
